THE ORIA ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS FOR 2008
On December 17, 2007 The Oriental Rug Importers Association held its annual holiday dinner meeting at New York’s Ravagh Restaurant. The General Membership elected the following officers to serve for the 2008 calendar year:
| President: | Michael Harounian (Ebisons Harounian Imports) |
| Vice President: | Reza Momeni (Momeni) |
| Secretary: | Jeffrey DeSantis (Amici Imports) |
| Treasurer: | Behrooz Hakimian (Hadji Jalili Revivals) |
These changes will be effective January 1, 2008.
The night was topped off by a presentation made by Past President David Harounian and Association Executive Director Lucille Laufer. They presented “The ORIA Presidents’ Plaque” to current ORIA President Andrew Peykar, who has diligently served this Association for the past three years. Under Mr. Peykar’s reign the Oriental Rug Importers Association has evolved into a stronger Organization, and we are confident that incoming President Michael Harounian will continue on that same track.
